Josh’s 2012 Toyota HiLux Tourer

Josh’s 2012 Toyota HiLux Tourer

  • Model HiLux

  • Engine Type 3.0 D4D

  • Transmission Type 4-Speed Auto

  • Classification Tourer

Josh chose the dual-cab automatic HiLux because its easy to drive everyday at work and will take you to your favourite fishing or wheeling spot on the weekend.

“The HiLux will get you there and back home, no dramas.”

Josh has chosen to keep the HiLux’s 3.0-litre turbo diesel mostly but not completely stock. A pre-filter keeps the fuel clean and the injectors happy and an Inhouse Fabrication’s snorkel provides cool, clean air. The air-cleaner now resides in an InHouse Fabrication’s airbox, and a pair of Red Racer bonnet struts make checking it all out a lot easier.

The bar work is anything but stock. Up front sits an ARB steel bull bar and a set of Phat Bar’s bash plates. The sills are protected by a pair of Phat Bar’s steel sliders and out the back of the tub – which has been chopped – sits a custom rear bar.

Suspension comprises a pair of Dobinson remote reservoir struts, Outback Armour rear shocks and ARB rear leaf springs. Josh’s tyre of choice is currently the Kuhmo KL71 in 285/17/16s on black steel rims.

Josh has a roof rack fitted with a shovel and fishing rod holders and he’s fitted some custom tie down points to the tub to make carrying the weekend getaway gear a little easier.

When he’s not using the Lux for weekday work duties, Josh loads it up and heads to where the fish are biting. If he’s feeling like wheeling, then you might find him lifting a wheel out at Glasshouse.
