Brad used to run a 2013 SR5 HiLux, but found that he spent more time breaking it than driving it. He traded it on the Cruiser and hasn’t looked back.

He chose the petrol powered Cruiser because they are a relative bargain compared to the diesels. Brad wasn’t about to pay ‘diesel tax’ when the petrol is, overall, cheaper to maintain and run.

Since picking it up in 2015, Brad has set about turning it into his ideal camping and off-road machine. He likes to hit the local tracks around Brisbane and reckons there isn’t much that stands in the way of the Cruiser.

The front diff is fitted with an ARB air locker and diff and transfer case breathers keep the oil in and the water out.

The Cruiser is rolling on a set of 315/75/16 Kuhmo KL71 muddies, fitted to 16×8 Dynamic rims with a negative 25 offset.

Helping to keep the panels straight when off-road is a TJM Deluxe bull bar and a set of homemade tube sliders.

Brad likes his lights, and has completed a full LED interior fit out, in addition to LED awning lights, a 50″ curved LED light bar, LED rock lights and 8″ Britax X-ray spotties.

And that’s Brad’s off-road and camping ready ‘unbreakable’ Cruiser in a nutshell.
