Meet Pig. A lifted and locked Mitsubishi MN Triton that doesn’t mind getting dirty.
When it comes to 4X4 utes the now superseded MN Triton was one of the value buys and a much underrated off-road performer.
Rhyce bought this particular Triton to serve a couple of purposes. On weekdays it’s his work ute and on his own time it’s his off-roader. When time permits, Rhyce heads to one of the State Parks around Victoria or to the High Country and puts Pig through it’s paces.
Rhyce has modded his Triton to suit the terrain he pushes it through, which means traction, clearance and articulation are what’s important. With that in mind, he’s fitted an Ultimate Suspension 2-inch lift, lifted the body a further 2-inches and runs some chunky 285/70/16 Mickey Thompson MTZ tyres.
The Triton came with a factory air-locker in the rear diff (was an option), and Rhyce has added an e-locker to the front diff. Two lockers being better than one of course.
Up front there’s a TJM bull bar, brush bars and side steps as well as some Underbody Armor to protect the radiator and sump. The front bar is fitted with an electric winch that is wired to be controlled from inside the cabin.
There’s also a dual battery system and a neat steel tray conversion.
And that folks, makes for a pretty darn tidy looking Pig.
