2017 Mitsubishi Triton GLS Sports Edition On Sale Now

The 2017 Mitsubishi Triton GLS Sports Edition is now available and according to Mitsubishi Motors Australia, it offers unique styling and specification enhancements that deliver a “smart but tough on-and-off roader”.

Using the GLS 4×4 Double Cab as a base means standard equipment includes Smartphone Link Display Audio (SDA), keyless entry and a reversing camera.

The Sports Edition comes with a bunch of blacked-out gear, including the grille, sports bar, alloy wheels and rear step bumper with a black powder coat finish nudge bar added to round out the look.

The big news from our perspective isn’t the black stuff, it’s the inclusion of a rear differential lock, usually only available on the top-of-the-range, auto only Exceed model, a decision that has never made a lot of sense to us.

All up the GLS Triton Sports Edition costs around $4,500 more than the equivalent GLS but adds the following features:

Rear differential lock
Black grille
Black headlamp garnish
Black finish on 17” alloy wheels
Black finish wheel arch flares
Black finish side steps
Black finish rear step bumper
Black finish sports bar
Black powder coat finish nudge bar
Tub liner
Tinted bonnet protector
Soft tonneau cover
Tow bar and tow ball
Carpet mats

An optional ‘Extreme’ genuine accessory pack is available at additional cost and this includes:

Colour keyed hard tonneau cover (replaces soft tonneau cover)
‘Venom’ driving lights and harness

Colour choices include black, Titanium grey and Starlight, with Starlight being unique to the GLS Sports Edition.

Available with the option of a manual or automatic transmission, the Triton GLS Sports Edition is on sale now in Mitsubishi dealerships.

2017 Mitsubishi Triton GLS Sports Edition pricing:

GLS Sports Edition Double Cab manual – $45,990
